World Mental Health Day is celebrated

JOLLANG, 10 Oct: The sub-center (SC) of the health and wellness center (HWC) here observed the World Mental Health Day on Thursday, in collaboration with the Naharlagun regional center of the National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD-Divyangjan) and USAID. – PRERANA.

Speaking to the participants, the SC Health & Wellness officer, Jollang Junuma Murtem, stressed the importance of mental health awareness and the need for community support to address mental health issues.

The Physiotherapist in charge of NILD’s regional center, Dr. Minam Padung, gave a speech on “disability and mental health.” His talk highlighted the unique challenges people with disabilities face, and the critical need for integrated mental health services.

USAID-PRERANA program officer Techi Tapu gave an overview of the organization’s efforts to promote sexual and reproductive health and family planning, while linking these topics to mental health awareness. His presentation highlighted the importance of holistic health practices in improving overall health in the workplace. He also watched a video about emotional intelligence in children and the warning signs of mental health. In East Siang, the day was observed by the District Health Organization at the Drug Addiction and Rehabilitation Center in Jarkong, where the DMO informed the participants about the importance of the day and the relationship between drug addiction and mental health.

Clinical psychologist Kenyam Pertin spoke about mental health and held a stress management session with inmates, doctors and medical staff at the facility through the Maslach Burnout test.

Itanagar, the capital police station, in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Psychological Association (APPA), organized a mental health workshop for police personnel at Ane’s Home, located in the women’s police station ( WPS), at the World Mental festival. Health Day.

WPS Inspector OC Rina Sonam highlighted the “importance of Ane Home,” which she described as “a place for victims of domestic and sexual violence.”

The Miao (Changlang) APWWS team celebrated the day by distributing fruits and water to prisoners at the Miao police station.
